Prof. Hong Lin of School of Materials Science and Engineering was awarded the title of Fellow of School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo in May 14, 2018. Prof. Tatsuya Okubo, Dean of School of Engineering, issued the certificate to Prof. Hong Lin in the University of Tokyo.
The honorary title was awarded in recognition of Prof. Hong Lin's outstanding contributions to the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities over the years and to her great research achievement in the field of new energy materials.
Prof. Lin was the executive director of the academic workshops between School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University and Department of Materials Engineering, the University of Tokyo (including three university workshops with Seoul National University) for 12 times since 2005 to 2016, and also delivered many lectures and presentations at the workshops. She also contributed a lot to student exchange between the two universities. Furthermore, she served as the General Secretary of the 2nd TU-UTokyo Joint Symposium on Multidiscipline in 2017, which included professors and students of about 10 disciplines, and made outstanding contributions to strengthening exchanges between the two universities.
Prof. Hong Lin has widely contributed to the research of new energy materials and made outstanding achievements in the structural design and preparation of nanomaterials, surface and interface chemistry, photochemistry and electrochemistry, and the creation of mechanism for charge generation / extraction / transmission / recombination / collection in solar cells. She has published more than 400 scientific papers, including more than 220 SCI papers, 8 books (including co-authorship), and 15 authorized Chinese invention patents. She is currently the associate editor of Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM).
Fellow of School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo is an honorary title given to foreign professors who have made outstanding academic and educational achievements in the field of engineering and have made remarkable contributions to exchanges and cooperation with School of Engineering of the Tokyo University. In 2017, 6 foreign professors were awarded this honorary title.
